CSA: Greenwich CT

Russo Family Farm is excited to offer a CSA vegetable subscription to Greenwich CT in summer 2019! You will receive the freshest produce from our farm, cultivated and cared for by Dan & Monique.

What is a CSA?

Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) is a locally based model of agriculture production and distribution. A group pledges to support a local farm, with producers and consumers sharing the risks and benefits of food production. Joining a CSA is one of the most direct ways to sustain small local farms and invest in your food system. A member receives a “share” of produce as it is harvested. Members learn about vegetables, the environment, sustainability, and try out new receipes, and reconnect with natural food cycles.

What do I receive in the vegetable share?

The CSA schedule is based on 3 pick-ups per month. This is based on what most families are able to eat in a week. We frequently have extra pickups for bumper crops, and if there is something you particularly enjoy, we are happy to bring extras. The share consists of a variety of vegetables that are at their peak in-season for the local climate. For example, lettuce and radish thrive in cooler temperatures and are one of the first vegetables available. Tomatoes require warmth and time to ripen on the vine, thuse they will be available later in July.

Full season $450: Jun through October, there will be at least 3 pick-up per month

Half season $360: To accommodate those who might travel and be away for long periods, you can select 3 months, where there will be at least 3 pick-ups per month.
