Russo Family Farm is excited to partner with our friends at ConsciousFork Maplewood to trial a weekly subscription of vegetables at their best and freshest. This is a 4-week trial, starting at the end of July (exact dates to be determined). You will pick up your share of vegetables @ConsciousFork Maplewood.
What is a CSA?
Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) is a locally based model of agriculture production and distribution. A group pledges to support a local farm, with producers and consumers sharing the risks and benefits of food production. Joining a CSA is one of the most direct ways to sustain small local farms and invest in your food system. A member receives a “share” of produce as it is harvested. Members learn about vegetables, the environment, sustainability, and try out new receipes, and reconnect with natural food cycles.
What do I receive?
Every week during the growing season, you will receive a share of vegetables grown on the farm. The share consists of a variety of vegetables that are at their peak in season for the local climate. For example, lettuce and radishes thrive in cooler temperatures and are one of the first vegetables available starting in May. Tomatoes require warmth and time to ripen on the vine, thus they will be available starting in late-July.
