Russo Family Farms is offering a 5-month Winter CSA (community supported agriculture) for residents in Inwood from November through March. You can continue to eat real food from a local farmily-operated farm as the winter season rolls into New York!
What’s in a Winter Share?
You will receive a mix of winter squashes (about 1 fresh direct box, along with printed recipe suggestions to try. You will also receive a freshly made pie, either from our produce, or from our partner farms in the Warwick area. In November, you will also receive fresh herbs in preparation for Thanksgiving.
- Spaghetti Squash
- Sweet Dumpling, a delicata squash
- Baby Pam pie pumpkin
- Acorn squash
- Tan heirloom acorn squash
- Heirloom butternut squash
- Orange dawn squash
- Blue hubbard squash
- Green hubbard squash
- Herbs: sage, thyme, parsley, chives
- Pies: pumpkin (Nov), apple (Dec), squash sage quiche (Jan), sweet pie(Feb), onion quiche (Mar)
When do I receive the Winter Share?
Pickup from our volunteer coordinator in Inwood during the first week of each month, between Monday and Friday. Exact timing can be arranged with the coordinator.
