Russo Family Farm is excited to offer a CSA vegetable subscription for either on farm pick up in Warwick, NY or to Greenwich CT in summer 2020! You will receive the freshest produce from our farm, cultivated and cared for by Dan & Monique.
Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) is a locally based model of agriculture production and distribution. A group pledges to support a local farm, with producers and consumers sharing the risks and benefits of food production. Joining a CSA is one of the most direct ways to sustain small local farms and invest in your local food system. A member receives a “share” of produce as it is harvested. Members learn about vegetables, the environment, sustainability, and try out new recipes, and reconnect with natural food cycles.
What’s in a share?
There may be between 6 – 12 vegetable mixes each week, based on the timing and weather for the local climate. For example, lettuce and radish thrive in cooler temperatures and are one of the first vegetables available. Tomatoes require warmth and time to ripen on the vine, thus they will be available later in July.
The CSA schedule is based on 3 pick-ups per month. This is based on pas experience of what 2 adults are able to cook and eat in a week. We frequently have extra pickups for bumper crops, and if there is something you particularly enjoy, we are happy to bring extras.
Pricing
Normal Share $450: Jun through October, there will 3 pick-up per month (total 15 pick up).
Veggie Lover Share $600: Double the amount! Great option if you are a fan of juicing, or want to can, ferment, and prepare food for longer-term storage.
Half season $360: To accommodate those who might travel and be away for long periods, you can select 3 months when you would like vegetables (9 pick ups)
Where & When to get your vegetables
As a community-oriented model, we rely on members to pick-up their vegetable shares. Please bring your own bag or box to collect the veggies.
